Description

There are stones that carry silence, and stones that carry strength. Sulemani Hakik, the striated black agate prized across the Islamic world and the Indian subcontinent for centuries, has long been worn as a talisman for emotional steadiness, mental focus and courage under pressure. Each bead in this bracelet is cut and polished to a uniform 8mm diameter, revealing the stone's characteristic layered blacks and deep charcoal veining, a natural geometry no craftsman could improve upon. The tradition of wearing Hakik goes back to the courts of Mughal India, where the stone was set in gold and silver alike, believed to ground the wearer and quiet scattered thought. Here, the beads are strung simply and honestly, the stone speaking entirely for itself, certified for authenticity and weighing a grounded 19 grams at the wrist. For daily wear, this bracelet sits well against a plain white kurta on an ordinary Tuesday, or stacked alongside a single silver kada on a more considered evening. It pairs equally with the pared-back wardrobe of the diaspora shopper who reaches for meaning over ornament. The bracelet is strung on an elastic cord to a free size that accommodates most wrists without a clasp or adjustment. The matte-polished surface of each bead is smooth against the skin and resists the small knocks of everyday life, making this as practical a piece as it is a considered one.
