Description

There is something quietly insistent about deep red against silver, like winter berries caught in frost. This bracelet is worked in sterling silver, a metal long favoured by artisans in Rajasthan and the tribal jewellery traditions of central India for its cool, lustrous temperament and its willingness to hold stone without theatrics. The design pairs faceted garnets, whose colour sits at the richer, burgundy end of the red spectrum, with clear quartz that reads almost like captured light. The two stones are set in open-backed or bezel-style mounts that allow the stones to breathe and catch illumination as the wrist moves. Clear quartz has been used in Indian jewellery for centuries as a foil stone, its neutrality sharpening the saturation of whatever sits beside it. The bracelet weighs twelve grams and measures eight inches (approximately 20.3 cm) in length, offering a free-size fit that works across most adult wrists with a comfortable drape. Wear it over the cuff of a cream or ivory kurta at a winter wedding lunch, where the garnets will deepen under warm indoor light. It is equally at home clasped over the sleeve of a midnight-blue blouse, letting the silver do its quiet, reflective work. The sterling silver has been polished to a smooth finish that requires only an occasional wipe with a soft cloth to maintain its brightness. At twelve grams, the piece sits without weight on the wrist and is considered free size, practical for daily or occasional wear.
