Description

There is a particular joy in jewellery that does not whisper but sings, and this necklace sings in four full layers. Worked in brass with a warm golden finish, the piece unfolds across eight inches (approximately 20 cm) of width and three and a half inches (approximately 9 cm) of depth as a cascading bib of floral medallions, each set with coloured stones in a manner that recalls the festive exuberance of Rajasthani bazaar craft. The four-layer construction borrows from the tradition of heavy bridal adornment seen in the ateliers of Jaipur, where brass is treated not as a compromise but as a medium in its own right, capable of holding intricate florets, granulated borders and clustered stone settings with the same gravity as precious metal. At fifty-three grams, the piece carries genuine weight and presence without becoming unwearable. The matching earrings, three inches (approximately 7.6 cm) in height and just under two centimetres wide, extend the floral grammar downward with restrained elegance. Wear it over a raw silk kurta in ochre or brick red for a festive lunch, or let it anchor a plain ivory chanderi saree at a sangeet or engagement ceremony.
