Description
There are temples in the south where every pillar blooms, and this choker carries that same abundance into the room with you. Rooted in the South Indian tradition of floral devotional jewellery, this choker is set in brass and dressed in Kundan work, where flat-cut stones are pressed into refined foiled bezels to catch light the way a lamp catches a deity's gaze. The central composition arranges flower motifs across a broad, structured bib that rises to a full six inches (approximately fifteen centimetres) in height, making it a genuine statement necklace rather than a delicate accent piece. Bead drops fall from the lower edge in the manner characteristic of Nagercoil and Tanjavur temple jewellery traditions, adding movement and a gentle percussion to the silhouette. The piece weighs a substantial one hundred and ten grams, and that grounded weight is itself a mark of honest, unhurried making. Wear it over a deep-bordered Kanjivaram for a wedding ceremony, where its scale will hold its own against the richest weave. For a contemporary evening occasion, layer it over a silk kurta in ivory or black and let the choker carry the occasion entirely. The matched earrings, each measuring approximately four centimetres in height and two centimetres in width, complete the set without competing with it. The choker is free size, with an adjustable closure at the back to accommodate different necklines comfortably. Brass is durable and holds its finish well with simple care, making this a piece worn often and kept long.
