Description

There are earrings that simply hang, and then there are earrings that cascade like a monsoon garden caught in gold. This long jhumka is built around a floral top, where uncut Polki stones are set in their raw, unfoiled honesty against a brass base finished to a warm antique glow. Polki, the oldest of India's diamond-setting traditions, values the stone in its natural, uncut form, and here that tradition is expressed through a layered floral motif at the crown, its petals radiating outward before the silhouette narrows into a full, domed jhumka bell below. The bell itself is the heart of the piece, suspending a lustrous pearl drop that sways with every turn of the head. At sixty grams across a height of four and a quarter inches (approximately 10.8 cm) and a width of just over an inch (approximately 2.7 cm), the earring has genuine presence without being unwieldy. Wear these with a tissue silk saree and a carved choker for a winter wedding reception, or pair them with a raw silk kurta and minimal gold bangles for a Diwali evening where the jewellery does the speaking. The brass construction means the piece holds its shape and weight distribution well over long hours of wear. The pearl drop is secured at the base, the jhumka closure is standard post-and-push-back, and the warm antique finish resists the harshness of daily handling with quiet resilience.
