Description

There are flowers that bloom in enamel, and they never wither. This stud earring is built around a central floral motif, each petal filled with Meenakari enamel in your choice of deep cobalt blue, layered green and pink, or rich red. Polki stones, uncut and unpolished in the manner of the old Mughal tradition, are set directly into the brass base, catching light the way foil-backed stones always have in Jaipur's workshops. The brass ground, warm and receptive, holds the enamel without the weight that silver or gold would add, making it possible to wear all day without fatigue. The combination of Polki setting and Meenakari paintwork is a signature of Rajasthan's jewellery quarters, where karigars treat each colour field as a miniature canvas, building up the vitreous surface layer by careful layer. For a daytime occasion, wear the blue colourway against an ivory or ecru kurta where the cobalt reads cleanly. For a wedding guest appearance, the green and pink or red colourway sits beautifully alongside a silk Chanderi or Banarasi dupatta, deepening rather than competing with the textile's own colour. Each earring measures approximately 1.8 inches (4.6 cm) in length and 1 inch (2.5 cm) in width, with the pair weighing 22 grams together. The stud fitting keeps the piece close to the ear and secure through a long evening, with no dangling parts to catch on fabric or hair.
