Description

There is a certain quietness to a flower rendered in uncut stone, as though the jewel remembers the garden it was made to honour. This floral stud draws on the Polki tradition, in which flat, uncut diamonds or their simulants are set face-up so that natural light pools within them rather than refracts away. Here, a single bloom is composed in brass, its petals arranged symmetrically around a central stone, the whole surface reading as a considered miniature rather than an ornament made for volume. Polki work of this character has long been associated with Rajasthan, where karigar families have spent generations coaxing flat-cut stones into floral geometries. The brass base, warm and receptive, holds the setting with a solidity that belies the earring's modest weight of twelve grams for the pair. Available in Green-White and Pink-White, each colourway shifts the mood entirely, the green reading as cool and botanical, the pink as soft and festive. The earrings measure one inch by one inch, approximately two and a half centimetres each way, sitting close to the lobe as a stud should. For a daytime pairing, wear the Green-White with a handloom cotton kurta in ivory or sage. For an evening occasion, the Pink-White settles beautifully against a silk or tissue chanderi with a delicate border. Free-sized and designed for standard pierced ears, these studs weigh lightly through a long day. The brass construction ensures durability, and the compact profile means they move easily from desk to dinner without adjustment.
