Description

There are jhumkas that announce themselves, and there are those that simply bloom. This floral-motif jhumka draws from a long lineage of copper-based craft that flourished across Rajasthan and Bengal, where the metal was prized not for opulence but for its warmth, its malleability, and its willingness to carry intricate stonework without apology. The central flower is set with stones that catch light softly, their setting worked close and even in the manner of artisans who understand that restraint is its own form of richness. Copper lends the piece a burnished, antique-adjacent finish, deeper in tone than gold-plated brass, with a reddish undertone that photographs beautifully and ages gracefully against skin. At 2.1 inches tall and 0.7 inches wide (approximately 5.3 cm by 1.8 cm), the silhouette is slender enough for daily wear yet sufficiently present to hold its own. Pair these with a hand-block-printed cotton kurta in indigo or rust at a daytime gathering, where the copper reads as considered and unfussy. For an evening mehendi or a festive lunch, let them meet a silk chanderi or a tissue-weave dupatta, where their floral motif echoes the occasion's own vocabulary of bloom and ceremony. At 35 grams, the weight is perceptible but not taxing across a long day. The hook closure is standard and secure. Copper at this quality requires occasional gentle polishing to maintain its finish, which is a small, worthy ritual for a piece this intentional.
