Description

There is a quiet grandeur to jewellery that frames the hand as much as it adorns it. This haathphool pair belongs to a tradition beloved in Rajasthani and Mughal-influenced courts, where the hand itself was treated as a canvas for ornament. Each piece spans approximately 5.2 inches (13.2 cm) in length and 4.1 inches (10.4 cm) in width, connecting a central floral medallion to a bracelet band and finger ring through delicate chain links. The motif is botanical at heart: petalled blooms rendered in brass, their centres and petals set with coloured stones in a closed bezel or prong setting that catches light without ostentation. Brass, worked here with evident care, carries a warm golden tone that recalls older gold-finish traditions from Jaipur's costume jewellery ateliers. At a combined weight of 54 grams for the pair, the piece has presence on the hand without becoming burdensome. Wear this haathphool with a hand-embroidered silk kurta and churidar for a festive luncheon, where it draws the eye without competing with heavier neckpieces. It pairs equally well over the hands of a sharara ensemble at a mehendi or sangeet gathering, where the floral motif rhymes beautifully with henna patterns beneath. Sized to fit most adult hands, the adjustable ring loop and flexible chain links allow a comfortable drape across the dorsum of the hand. The brass base is suited to occasional ceremonial wear, and benefits from gentle storage away from moisture.
