Description

There are evenings when a single earring carries the weight of a whole season's bloom. The chandbali is one of the oldest silhouettes in the Indian jewellery vocabulary, its crescent-moon base a shape worn from Mughal courts to Rajput zenanas without ever losing its poise. Here, that form is rendered in brass and set throughout with Kundan work: uncut glass stones pressed into gold-foiled recesses by hand, each one held firm by the patient burnishing of a setting tool rather than a prong. The floral design at the centre draws from the botanical repertoire that Jaipur's Kundan karigars have refined over generations, petals fanning outward in a composition that feels both symmetrical and alive. Two colours are offered: a deep, vine-cool green and a vivid magenta, each stone chosen so that the colour reads cleanly against the polished brass ground beneath it. Wear the green against an ivory silk kurta for a winter wedding mehendi, or reach for the magenta with a mustard Banarasi sari when the afternoon light is generous. Both colourways hold their own without competing with heavier necklaces. Each earring measures approximately 7.1 cm in height and 3.4 cm in width, a presence that is confident without being unwieldy. The brass base keeps the weight manageable for long festive evenings. The hook closure is straightforward to use, and the foiled Kundan stones are best kept away from water to preserve their lustre across many wearings.
