Description
There are gardens that exist only in gold and glass, and this is one of them. Rooted in the Kundan tradition that flourished in the royal ateliers of Jaipur, this brass-based necklace and earring set is built around a full-blown floral motif that feels at once architectural and alive. The pendant, measuring roughly nine centimetres tall and eight and a half centimetres wide, is composed of layered petal forms set with flat-foiled Kundan stones in the characteristic manner: glass carefully embedded within a raised gold-toned frame, each stone held without prong or claw, simply by the pressure of refined metalwork. Drops of green beads fall from the lower edge of both the pendant and the earrings, their colour echoing the enamelled tradition of Meenakari without quite claiming it, adding a botanical rhythm to the overall composition. The earrings extend to approximately seven and a half centimetres in height. The complete set weighs one hundred and seventeen grams, a weight that announces itself with quiet ceremony. Wear this over a raw-silk kurta in ivory or pale blush for a mehendi afternoon, where the green drops will carry the whole palette. It reads equally well over a Benarasi blouse at a winter wedding, layered beneath a sheer dupatta. The necklace closes with an adjustable dori measuring roughly twelve centimetres, allowing the pendant to sit comfortably across different necklines. The brass base is finished to resist tarnish through light handling, and the earrings are free-sized for standard pierced ears.
