Description
There are gardens that bloom only in brass and coloured glass, tended by hands that have never needed a season to change. Kundan is the discipline of setting stones flush into a foiled metal bed, coaxing light from within rather than from above. Here, the tradition finds expression in a boldly scaled floral motif, its petals outlined in the characteristic flat-set Kundan manner, each stone framed by fine gold-toned wire pressed and burnished into place. The teardrop stone drops that hang below complete the composition with the easy logic of a flower releasing its fruit. At roughly seven centimetres in height and just under four centimetres in width, these earrings carry genuine presence; the forty-four-gram weight is distributed across the full length of the piece, so the drop feels intentional rather than burdensome. Brass forms the structural base, warm and receptive to the layered Kundan setting technique that Jaipur's workshops have refined over generations. Two colours are offered: a saturated deep green and a softer, misted light green, each shifting the mood of the same silhouette from opulent to pastoral. Wear the deep green against a silk tissue kurta at a mehendi or a festive lunch; the light green version pairs with an ivory chanderi saree for a temple visit or an afternoon wedding reception, where restraint reads as confidence. The free-size fit accommodates most ears without adjustment. The brass base resists everyday handling well; store the earrings away from moisture to preserve the Kundan setting's subtle foil luminosity over time.
