Description

There are flowers that bloom only in silver. This wraparound bracelet draws from a long tradition of floral silverwork, where artisans render petals and leaves in repeat across a supple, coiling form. Each blossom is set with a vivid green emerald at its centre, surrounded by white topaz that catches light the way dew sits on a petal just before it falls. The sterling silver itself is worked with care: clean lines, a considered weight of 16.2 grams, and a finish that is neither too bright nor too muted. The motif speaks to the kind of botanical ornament found across Indian silver craft traditions, from the filigree gardens of Cuttack to the naturalistic silverwork of Bengal, translated here into something wearable and quietly contemporary. The emerald and topaz pairing keeps the palette cool and composed, green and white in easy conversation. Wrap it at the wrist over a fine cotton kurta in ivory or sage for a Sunday afternoon that deserves a little adornment. It moves just as naturally with a sleeveless Western dress on an evening that calls for understated colour. The bracelet measures 11.5 inches (approximately 29 centimetres) in length and is free-sized, designed to coil and settle around most wrists without a clasp to negotiate. Sterling silver is forgiving in daily wear; a soft cloth and occasional rest from moisture will keep it bright for years.
