Description

There are flowers that bloom only in brass, and this is one of them. The choker is built around a repeating floral motif, each bloom set with multicolour stones arranged in the manner of costume Kundan work, where colour does the labour that precious metals might otherwise carry. Brass, long favoured by artisans in Rajasthan and Bengal for its warm, golden undertone and its willingness to hold intricate settings, forms the body of both the necklace and the paired earrings. The stones sit in close formation, their hues shifting from centre to petal edge, catching light the way a garden does at midday. The necklace stands at 2.5 inches (approximately 6.4 cm) in height, giving it the presence of a true choker, while the earrings measure 2.25 inches (approximately 5.7 cm) in height and 1.25 inches (approximately 3.2 cm) in width. The full set weighs 95 grams, substantial enough to feel considered on the body.
