Description

There is a quiet arithmetic to beauty: sometimes six small spheres say everything a pendant cannot. Sterling silver, worked into flawless rounds of three-and-a-half millimetres in diameter, these beads belong to a tradition that values geometry over ornament. The sphere is perhaps the oldest form in the silversmith's vocabulary, found in the granulated clusters of Rajasthani tribal jewellery, in the strung amulets of Bengal's village craftswomen, and in the plain, burnished accents that punctuate ceremonial necklaces from Nagercoil to Bikaner. Here, that ancient form is distilled to its essence: no stone, no enamel, no surface interruption. The silver is worked to a smooth, high polish that catches light the way still water does, unhurried and complete. Each set of six pieces arrives ready to be incorporated into a longer strand, a bespoke choker, or a layered statement of your own devising. Thread them onto a fine silk cord for a minimal collar worn over a Chanderi kurta at an intimate festive lunch; or space them between seed pearls on a hand-knotted chain for a contemporary take on bridal layering at a mehendi. Free size by nature, the beads suit wrists, necklines and ear-threaders alike. Sterling silver at this scale is lightweight against the skin, resistant to everyday wear, and easy to store. A soft cloth is sufficient to restore the polish between wearings.
