Description

There is a particular pleasure in a silhouette that has outlasted every passing trend. The chandbali is among the oldest earring forms in Indian jewellery, its crescent-and-drop shape rooted in Mughal ateliers and refined across centuries in the workshops of Jaipur and Hyderabad. This pair reinterprets that lineage with a fan-shaped spread, the upper body fanning outward like an open hand before tapering into a drop below. Cast in copper and finished in gold plating, the warm tone sits close to the skin without the weight of solid gold. At 2.6 inches in height and 2.1 inches in width (approximately 6.6 cm by 5.3 cm), the earring has genuine presence without tipping into costume excess. Weighing 36 grams across the pair, it carries its scale honestly, the copper base lending structure and a pleasing solidity to the form. For a festive lunch, pair these with a raw silk kurta in ivory or blush, letting the gold pick up the warm undertones of the fabric. At a mehendi or sangeet, they hold their own against an embellished lehenga in jewel tones, anchoring the look without competing. The earring is offered as a single free size with a standard hook or post closure suited to most ears. The gold plating is best kept away from water and perfume to preserve its depth. A soft cloth is all the care it asks.
