Description

Darkness, given geometry. Black onyx has long held a particular gravity in Indian jewellery traditions, used in everything from Bikaner's inlaid enamel work to the bold silver pieces that emerge from tribal and artisanal workshops across Rajasthan. Here, that same stone is rendered in its most honest form: faceted, so that each cut face catches and refracts light rather than simply absorbing it. The result is a bracelet of quiet drama. Set in sterling silver, the beads are strung to a length of seven inches (approximately 17.8 cm), the silhouette clean and unadorned, letting the play of matte black against the cool lustre of silver do all the speaking. At forty-four grams, the piece carries genuine heft, the kind that settles on the wrist with intention rather than afterthought. The silver has not been gilded or treated into imitation; it is honest in its metal and honest in its stone. Wear it alone against the cuff of a white cotton kurta on an ordinary afternoon, and it reads as considered restraint. Pair it with a Benarasi silk blouse and layered gold at the neck for an evening, and it anchors the look without competing. Free-sized and designed to fit most adult wrists comfortably at the standard length, the bracelet requires no resizing. Sterling silver does ask for occasional polishing to maintain its brightness, but the onyx itself is hardy and resistant to the demands of daily wear.
