Description

There is a quietness to violet that silver understands instinctively. Each earring is set with a faceted amethyst, the stone cut to catch and scatter light in the manner of Jaipur's lapidary tradition, where the precise geometry of each facet is as considered as the setting that holds it. The mount is sterling silver, worked to a clean finish that lets the deep purple of the amethyst read without interruption. At roughly 1.5 inches in height (approximately 3.8 cm), the drop is long enough to move gracefully with the wearer, and the total weight of 3 grams means the pair sits lightly on the ear, undemanding and unhurried. The setting itself frames the stone simply, trusting the amethyst's own colour and brilliance to carry the piece. For a daytime occasion, pair these with a fine Chanderi kurta in ivory or sage, letting the violet speak against quiet fabric. Come evening, they hold their own alongside a silk sari in deep plum or charcoal, offering a note of colour that is considered rather than conspicuous. Because these are free size in the sense that the drop is a fixed, unwired length, they suit most earring preferences without adjustment. The sterling silver is well suited to regular wear, resisting tarnish with ordinary care. At 3 grams, they are light enough for a full day's wearing, from morning meeting to evening table, without fatigue.
