Description

There are textiles that hold an entire landscape inside their weave, and this necklace is one of them. Sambalpuri fabric, woven in the ikat tradition of Odisha, is not printed but resist-dyed before the loom ever moves, so that each thread carries its pattern like memory. The signature motifs here, geometric and rhythmic, are stitched and appliquéd onto an MDF base to give the long necklace its architectural body, while a scattering of natural shells adds coastal texture and a quiet organic warmth. The set spans a generous 23.5 inches (59.7 cm) in necklace length, with earrings measuring 3 cm by 3 cm, the whole ensemble resting at just 29 grams. The palette follows the piece as pictured: the deep, saturated tones typical of traditional Sambalpuri weaving. Wear it over a cream handloom kurta for a quiet afternoon gathering, where the necklace becomes the single note of colour. Equally, it reads beautifully against a white cotton sari at a literary festival or cultural evening, bridging craft tradition and contemporary ease without effort.
