Description

The moon arrives early when you wear it at your ear. The chandbali is one of North India's most enduring jewellery silhouettes: a crescent whose arc cradles the face and whose drop commands a room. This long interpretation, measuring approximately 10.7 cm in height and 5 cm in width, honours that tradition in gold-plated copper, a pairing that gives the piece both warmth and lightness. At 39 grams, it carries real presence without strain. The crescent body follows the classic form associated with Rajasthani and Mughal-era adornment, and the gold plating lends a lustrous finish reminiscent of the gilded surface work seen on festive pieces from Jaipur's older jewellery lanes. Smaller decorative elements extend downward from the crescent in a cascading arrangement, drawing the silhouette into a long, dramatic drop that softens against the jaw. For a mehendi or sangeet, pair these earrings with a tissue-silk lehenga in ivory or terracotta and let the gold do the talking against unembellished fabric. For a festive dinner, they translate equally well alongside a deep-toned anarkali in wine or forest green, worn with hair pinned back to allow the full drop its due. The standard free-size hook closure suits most ear piercings comfortably. The copper base keeps the earrings sturdy through an evening of wear, and the gold-plated finish, maintained with a soft dry cloth, holds its warmth across multiple outings.
