Description

The crescent moon, older than every calendar, finds a new geometry in brass. Shaped into a wide cuff that rises two inches (approximately 5 cm) from wrist to forearm, this bracelet draws its drama from the arc of the crescent itself, rendered in warm brass and set with clear crystals that catch light the way frost catches a winter morning. The silhouette is architectural rather than delicate: an open cuff with a generous inner diameter of 2.4 inches (approximately 6 cm), allowing it to sit with authority rather than slide. Brass, the metal of temple bells and old trade routes, is worked here without the weight of precious metals but with equal intentionality, its warm golden tone deepened by whatever patina time will eventually lay upon it. The crystals are set flush enough to read as a continuous crescent line, and at 29 grams the bracelet holds its shape without burdening the arm. Wear it against a raw silk kurta in ivory or sand, where the crescent motif reads as almost celestial jewellery. For a contemporary pairing, it works equally well with a white linen shirt and straight trousers, the brass catching the light of an evening gathering. The open cuff construction means the fit can be gently adjusted to the wrist without tools. The smooth inner surface of the brass sits comfortably against skin, and the clear crystals, being set close, are unlikely to catch on fabric during daily wear.
