Description

There is a quietness to a flower rendered in Kundan, as though the goldsmith paused mid-bloom and decided perfection needed no further argument. These earrings belong to the Jaipur tradition of lac-backed Kundan work, where a brass base is built up with lac resin, then each stone is pressed into its foiled cell by hand, one flat-set gem at a time. The circular floral motif here is the heart of that discipline: a central stone cluster ringed by petal-shaped settings, the whole disc reading as a single blossom. Glass stones in Dark Green, Green, Peach, or Red sit flush against the polished brass, their colour drawn upward by the foil beneath. At three inches in height and roughly 1.85 inches across (approximately 7.6 cm by 4.7 cm), each earring carries a considered weight of 70 grams, which means the drop feels substantive rather than delicate. Wear them against a silk chanderi kurta in ivory for a literary festival or a mehendi afternoon, where the colour of the stone becomes its own jewellery story. Equally, they lift a cotton mulmul saree into something that reads as considered and festive in equal measure. Free size, as all drop earrings are by nature, these suit a standard hook closure. The brass construction makes them more resilient than their beauty suggests. Four colour options mean a single investment in the craft serves several wardrobes and several seasons without repetition.
