Description

There are devotions that ask to be worn close to the heart, and this is one of them. Chaturbhuja Ganesha, the four-armed remover of obstacles, sits at the centre of this long necklace in resin cast with the care of a miniature sculptor, his multiple hands each bearing a symbolic attribute rendered in faithful detail. The surrounding strand layers lustrous pearls with the deep charcoal gravity of hematite beads, a pairing that feels both grounded and luminous. Brass findings anchor the composition, lending the piece the warm, slightly antiqued tone associated with devotional jewellery from temple traditions across South India and Bengal, where the deity's image is never merely ornamental but always auspicious. The resin pendant itself is worked to a smooth, polished finish, making the figure legible and quietly commanding against the body. At 23 inches (approximately 58 cm) in length, this necklace sits at the sternum, making it ideal over a fine cotton kurta for a festive puja gathering, or layered beneath a silk dupatta at a wedding function where understated devotion is its own kind of adornment. Weighing 146 grams, the piece has the reassuring presence of a considered object without feeling heavy through a long ceremony. The free-size design needs no adjustment. Brass components should be kept away from prolonged moisture to preserve their warm finish, and the resin pendant is best wiped gently with a dry, soft cloth.
