Description

There are devotions that quietly become adornment. The charan paduka, the sacred footwear of the divine, has been rendered in silver across temple traditions from the Deccan to the eastern ghats, its form carrying centuries of reverent iconography. Here, that motif is reinterpreted as a cuff-style bracelet in sterling silver, its silhouette abstracted into a stylised form that retains the symbolic outline while reading as jewellery of confident, everyday grace. The surface bears the understated warmth that well-finished sterling silver holds, neither overly bright nor roughly matte, settling somewhere between the two with the quiet authority of a piece made to last. At 4.75 inches wide (approximately 12 cm) and 0.75 inches in height (approximately 1.9 cm), the bracelet has presence without bulk, and its 6.6 g weight sits featherlight on the wrist. The free-size form means it slips on with ease, fitting most wrists comfortably. Worn with a silk chanderi kurta in ivory or a handloom cotton set in indigo, it draws the eye gently rather than demanding attention. For a festive afternoon, pair it with a tissue silk blouse and a draped dupatta; the motif will carry its own quiet narrative against the fabric. The free-size band requires no adjustment and no clasp, making it as practical for daily wear as it is considered for occasions. Sterling silver rewards simple care, polishing back to its honest, cool lustre with a soft cloth.
