Description

There are bridal adornments that dress a woman, and there are those that complete her. This four-piece bridal set brings together a mang tikka, matha patti, necklace set and nose ring in warm-toned brass worked in the spirit of north Indian bridal craft. Brass, long favoured by karigars in Jaipur and Bikaner for its malleability and its rich, gold-like lustre, allows for deep relief work and intricate surface detailing that heavier metals sometimes resist. The pieces carry the vocabulary of traditional bridal jewellery: layered floral and foliage motifs, dense stone-setting in the Kundan manner, and a finish that reads as ceremonial without tipping into the theatrical. The matha patti frames the forehead with the particular authority that only a full set, worn together, can achieve. Each component is designed to speak to the others, so the weight of the necklace finds its counterpoint in the delicacy of the tikka and the single punctuation of the nose ring. Wear the complete set with a heavy Benarasi silk for a wedding or sangeet; the warm brass tone is equally at ease against a deep red Kanjeevaram or a blush-pink tissue lehenga for a mehendi ceremony. All four pieces are free size, designed to accommodate a wide range of builds. The brass base is lightweight relative to its visual impact, making extended wear through a long day of celebrations entirely manageable without discomfort.
