Description

There are brides who wear jewellery, and there are brides who wear an entire tradition. This bridal set arrives as a complete ceremonial universe: a necklace set, mang tika, matha patti, hathphool, nose ring and long set together forming the layered adornment that north Indian and Rajasthani bridal dressing has refined over centuries. The brass base is worked in the manner of the Jaipur ateliers, where karigars press and chisel metal into floral and paisley architectures before setting it with glass stones or polished inserts in the manner of Kundan-influenced costume jewellery. Brass, chosen deliberately here, carries the warmth of gold without its weight, and in the hands of a skilled karigar it holds meenakari-style colour and surface detailing with quiet fidelity. The finish reads as antique gold, lending the set the gravity of heirloom without the formality of hallmarked metal. Wear the necklace set and matha patti together with a heavy silk lehenga for a wedding ceremony, allowing the mang tika to bisect the maang cleanly. For a sangeet or mehendi, let just the hathphool and long set carry the conversation over a lighter tissue or chanderi ensemble. The set is offered in free size, with the hathphool adjustable at the finger loop and the matha patti chain typically adjustable at the hook. Brass requires light buffing to retain its lustre; store each piece separately to prevent surface scratching between components.
