Description
There are bridal sets that ornament a woman, and there are those that consecrate the moment entirely. This layered bridal parure draws from the Rajasthani Polki tradition, where uncut diamonds, here rendered in Polki-style stones set into brass finished to a warm, aged gold, are arranged in flat-faced, foil-backed settings that catch candlelight rather than chase it. The ensemble moves as a complete grammar of adornment: a choker measuring approximately 8.9 cm long by 14 cm wide, secured with an adjustable dori; a twenty-five-inch long haar falling to the sternum with a pendant of roughly 3.3 cm by 1.8 cm; a sheeshpatti matha patti spanning nearly 27 cm across the brow; and a maang tikka of about 10 cm, centred precisely at the hairline. A coordinating ring completes the composition. The brass base, when properly lacquered, carries the weight of the full set without discomfort across a ceremonial day. Wear this parure with a red or ivory silk Banarasi lehenga for a wedding ceremony, where the layered haar and sheeshpatti will move against heavy zari with quiet authority. For a sangeet or mehendi, pair it over a mirror-work Rajasthani ghagra in deep teal or ochre. The choker closes with an adjustable dori, making it accommodating across neck sizes. The matha patti at 27.2 cm suits a range of foreheads. Brass construction keeps the set lighter than silver, practical for long ceremonial wear.
