Description

Ganesha, the first among the worshipped, rendered in the jeweller's most devotional grammar. Kundan work has always been the language of reverence in Rajasthani jewellery, and here it finds a fitting subject: a central Ganesha motif, each contour of the deity's form outlined in the flat-set, wax-backed glass stones that define the Kundan tradition. The brass base, worked with the patience that Jaipur's karigar studios have practised for generations, carries the inlay without ostentation. From this devotional centrepiece fall multiple strands of beads, their rhythm creating a layered, ceremonial fullness across the collarbone. The matching earrings mirror the Kundan studding, carrying the Ganesha grammar from the neckline to the face. The full set weighs 120 grams, a presence that is felt without being burdensome, and the necklace sits at 12 inches (approximately 30.5 centimetres) in length. For a silk chanderi kurta at a puja or grih-pravesh, this set offers precisely the right weight of auspiciousness. Worn with a Kanjivaram or Banarasi sari for a wedding ceremony, it reads as both deeply traditional and thoughtfully chosen rather than merely ornamental. The brass construction makes the set resilient for repeated wear across festive seasons. Free size in the necklace length means it rests comfortably at the collarbone on most builds. Store away from moisture to protect the Kundan setting and the bead strands, and the piece will hold its lustre for many celebrations to come.
