Description

There is a particular kind of joy that lives in a bracelet wide enough to be seen across a room. Floral motifs have long been the grammar of Indian jewellery, from the carved jali gardens of Rajputana to the enamel gardens of Jaipur's Meenakari ateliers. This openable bangle speaks that same language in polki, setting uncut stones into a brass base that has been shaped and beaded by hand to frame each bloom with a border of granular detail. The polki, held in the characteristically open-backed foil setting native to North Indian craft traditions, catches light without aggressive brilliance, giving the piece the soft, considered glow of heirloom work rather than costume jewellery. At 30 grams, the bracelet carries perceptible weight, the kind that reminds the wrist it is dressed. The two colourways, white and green, correspond to the stone selection within each floral cluster, one cool and luminous, one warm with the depth of a garden after rain. Wear the white colourway with an ivory or blush tissue silk saree for a winter wedding reception; the green pairs beautifully with a deep teal Kanjivaram or a printed chanderi kurta set during a festive afternoon gathering. The bracelet measures 2.40 inches (6.1 cm) in width, 1.10 inches (2.8 cm) in height, and carries an inner diameter of 1.50 inches (3.8 cm). The openable hinge closure means it slips on and off without fuss, accommodating most adult wrists at free size.
