Description

There is a particular kind of confidence that arrives with a nath. This piece belongs to the living tradition of Kundan work, a craft whose origins trace through the courts of Rajasthan and whose finest contemporary workshops still operate in Jaipur. In Kundan setting, refined metal foil is pressed around each stone to hold it without prongs, the pressure of the gold-coloured foil alone creating a secure and seamless embrace. Here, on a circular brass frame, the setting is arranged in a round silhouette, its face filled with flat-set stones in the cool, reflective manner characteristic of classic Kundan naths worn for generations at celebrations and ceremonies. The brass base lends the piece a warm, antique-adjacent depth, and at just two grams the nath sits easily without pulling. The overall form measures approximately 1.8 cm high by 1.5 cm wide, compact enough for daily dignity. Worn with a silk chanderi kurta and a single jhumka, it draws the eye without demanding it. On a wedding guest or a bride's close family member, it reads as an informed, considered choice rather than an obvious statement. Being free size, the nath suits most piercings without adjustment. The brass construction keeps the weight negligible, and the Kundan-set face retains its polish with gentle, dry care. At a single gram above the wrist-worn average, it is as practical as it is considered.
