Description

Fierce grace, rendered in silver. Kodamdesar Bherunath is one of the most revered folk-deity traditions of Rajasthan, particularly venerated across the Bikaner region, where the Bherunath form of Shiva commands deep devotion as protector and destroyer of obstacles. This pendant carries that sacred iconography in sterling silver, its surface worked to render the fierce countenance of the deity with the kind of unhurried attention that separates devotional silversmithing from ordinary casting. The piece weighs 5.4 grams, a substantial presence for its compact silhouette of 1.1 inches in height by 0.7 inches in width (approximately 2.8 cm by 1.8 cm). The sterling silver catches light with a matt warmth, the detailing of the deity's form given depth through careful hand-finishing that honours the weight of its subject. Wear it close to the skin on a fine silver chain against a Benarasi silk blouse for a puja or festival gathering, where its devotional origin will quietly resonate. Equally, it holds its own threaded on a black waxed cord alongside a crisp white kurta for daily wear, grounding the everyday in the sacred. At free size, the pendant suits any chain gauge a wearer already owns. Sterling silver requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to retain its lustre, and its modest weight means it rests comfortably through long hours of wear without strain.
