Description

There are naths that adorn, and there are naths that announce. This one belongs to the second kind. Worked in brass and finished in the manner of Rajasthan's most celebrated bridal ateliers, the piece centres on a full, circular floral motif set with uncut Polki stones arranged in the Kundan tradition: each fragment of rough diamond-cut glass or stone pressed into a foiled gold-toned bezel, petal by petal, so that light moves across the face in broken, generous flashes. The floral bloom, measuring approximately 4 cm in height and 4.3 cm in width, is the kind of design that Jaipur's nath-makers have refined over generations, balancing visual weight with wearable proportion. From its lower curve, a single freshwater pearl drop descends, a gesture of restraint that tempers the exuberance of the setting. The accompanying 7-inch chain secures the nath comfortably at the ear, keeping the piece stable without strain. Wear this nath with a silk chanderi kurta and a single gold bangle for a festive lunch that requires presence without formality. For a wedding as a guest, pair it with a tissue Banarasi saree and keep all other jewellery deliberate and minimal: the nath will carry the look. At 8 grams, the piece sits lightly despite its generous face, and the brass base ensures the Kundan foiling remains intact through careful, occasional wear. Free size, with a standard pin closure suited to a pierced nostril.
