This piece is wrought in brass, a metal long beloved by Indian craftspeople for its warm, honeyed tone and its ability to carry intricate surface work without the weight of heavier alloys. The nose ring itself sits as a delicate hoop, its chain a fine strand that sweeps upward to anchor near the ear, recreating the bridal and festive grammar that Mughal miniatures recorded for centuries.
