Description
There are devotions that need no temple, only the right adornment close to the heart. Lord Jagannath, the presiding deity of Puri, is rendered here in sterling silver with the characteristic large round eyes and stylised visage that have defined his iconography for centuries. Rising above him is the Nilachakra, the sacred wheel that crowns the Shree Mandir's spire and symbolises the eternal turning of dharma. The antique finish, achieved through careful oxidation of the silver surface, draws every incised line into sharp relief, giving the pendant a warmth and depth that polished metal cannot offer. At one inch in height and one inch in width (approximately 2.5 cm by 2.5 cm), and weighing a precise seven grams, the piece sits as a considered medallion rather than a statement slab. This tradition of devotional silver work, sober and spiritually exact, finds its deepest roots in the temple-jewellery ateliers of Odisha and the eastern craft corridors of Bengal. Worn on a fine silver chain against a cream or ivory Banarasi blouse, this pendant reads as a quiet act of faith. For everyday devotion, it pairs equally well with a simple cotton kurta and a slender silver chain, carrying the sacred into the ordinary with grace. The pendant is offered in a single free size, its bail dimensioned for most standard chain thicknesses. The oxidised antique finish is resilient with gentle care, making this a piece suited to daily wear rather than the occasion-only jewellery box.
