Description

There are naths that announce arrival, and there are naths that simply belong. This floral nath draws from the exuberant tradition of statement nose jewellery that has long defined festive dressing across Rajasthan and the Deccan, where the nath is worn as a declaration of occasion. The centrepiece blooms outward in a full floral arrangement, its petals rendered in warm brass with a finish that recalls antique gold without pretending to be it. Brass, long favoured by artisans for its weight and workability, takes gilding beautifully and holds its form through intricate pressing and shaping. A beaded chain, roughly 18 centimetres (7 inches) in length, extends from the ring to anchor near the ear or hairline, swaying gently with movement. The full piece measures approximately 4.3 centimetres (1.7 inches) in height and width, and weighs a considered 11 grams, substantial enough to carry its presence without pulling. Worn at a mehendi ceremony or a sangeet evening, this nath pairs with a deep-hued lehenga and unlined kohl, letting the brass warm against marigold or oxblood. For a fusion occasion, it sits beautifully with a silk kurta and heavy silver jhumkas, the brass bridging old and new. The free-size ring is designed to fit most piercings comfortably. The beaded chain can be pinned discreetly to the hair. Brass requires gentle storage away from moisture to preserve its finish over time.
