Description

There are naths, and then there are naths that remember something. This floral Kundan nath belongs to the second kind. Worked in brass finished to a warm, antique-adjacent glow, it carries a central bloom set with flat-cut Kundan stones arranged in the layered, close-packed manner that Jaipur's goldsmiths have practised for generations, where foil-backed glass or paste stones are pressed into a soft metal bezel so that light pools rather than darts. The petals radiate outward in a disciplined symmetry, and from the lowest point hangs a single freshwater pearl drop, creamy and unhurried, softening the geometry above it. A delicate chain, running seven and a half inches in length, arcs upward to anchor at the ear, drawing a quiet line of gold-toned brass across the cheek. The piece weighs nineteen grams and measures approximately five and a half centimetres tall by nearly six centimetres wide, a presence that is ceremonial without being theatrical. Worn with a silk chanderi kurta and polki jhumkas at a daytime mehendi, it holds its own effortlessly. For a winter wedding reception, pair it against a deep wine Benarasi with a low chignon and let the pearl do the quieter talking. The free-size hoop and chain accommodate most nose piercings comfortably. Brass construction keeps the weight manageable across long ceremonies. The Kundan setting requires only a soft cloth wipe; no ultrasonic cleaning, no soaking, simply careful storage away from moisture.
