the story,

Behind this piece

The foliage print carries a quiet inheritance. Botanical motifs have threaded through Indian textile traditions for centuries, from the flowering jalis of Mughal court fabrics to the block-printed botanicals of Sanganer and Bagru in Rajasthan. This cotton-viscose cloth continues that lineage in a contemporary register, its alabaster and almond grounds recalling the pale, sun-warmed palettes favoured by artisans who understood that restraint is its own kind of richness. The blend itself is considered: cotton lends breathability suited to the Indian climate, while viscose introduces a gentle drape that gives the fabric its unhurried, almost contemplative fall.

to wear it,

How to style

For an unhurried afternoon, stitch this into a straight-cut kameez paired with wide-leg palazzo trousers in the same fabric and finish with Kolhapuri flats in tan leather. For a festive gathering, layer a sheer organza dupatta in ivory and reach for oxidised silver earrings with leaf motifs that echo the print. For office or travel, a tailored Anarkali silhouette in the almond colourway works effortlessly with pointed mules and a single gold bangle. Each reading of this cloth rewards a little thought in the wearing.

to last,

Fabric & care

Wash separately in cold water on a gentle machine cycle or by hand using a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Viscose weakens when wet, so avoid wringing or twisting. Roll the fabric in a clean cotton towel to absorb excess water, then dry flat in shade away from direct sunlight, which can yellow the pale grounds over time. Press on a medium setting while slightly damp, using a pressing cloth. Store folded loosely, never on a hanger, as prolonged hanging distorts the viscose weave. Treated with this care, the cloth will hold its drape and print clarity for years.
