the story,

Behind this piece

Bangalore has long been the quiet capital of India's silk-weaving ambitions, distinct from the louder grandeur of Kanchipuram yet no less rigorous in its craft. This saree speaks the language of that restraint: fine silk grounds carrying allover bootis in a measured, rhythmic scatter, while the border carries a peacock rendered in golden zari thread. The pallu opens into bold paisley, a motif with deep roots in Persian and Mughal textile traditions, absorbed wholly into the Karnataka weaver's grammar. Flame orange and honeydew together hold both confidence and softness.

to wear it,

How to style

For a Diwali gathering, pair the flame orange with an antique gold Kempstone choker and raw silk blouse in deep rust. Honeydew lends itself beautifully to a morning wedding ceremony: wear it with a pastel tissue blouse and pearl drops at the ears. For a corporate cultural event, either colourway works over a structured full-sleeve blouse in ivory, anchored by Kolhapuri heels in tan. The peacock border is strong enough to carry simple, minimal accessories; resist the temptation to layer heavily with statement pieces.

to last,

Fabric & care

Pure silk rewards patience. Dry-clean this saree after every wear to preserve the zari's lustre and prevent the silk threads from weakening. If you must hand-wash, use cold water with a mild, ph-neutral detergent and never wring or twist the fabric. Dry flat in shade, away from direct sunlight, which yellows silk irreversibly. Before storing, fold along the original weave lines with a muslin cloth between folds to prevent crease marks from setting. Keep in a breathable cotton bag with a neem sachet; avoid plastic packaging entirely.

Each piece is hand-loomed by artisan clusters we work with directly across India. Small irregularities in the weave are the hallmark of handloom — not a defect.
