These hobo bags are rooted in the mirror-work tradition of Kutch, Gujarat, where artisans have embedded small convex mirrors into cloth for centuries, a practice known as shisha embroidery. The craft travelled across Rajasthan and into the tribal textile corridors of Saurashtra, carried by communities including the Rabari and Ahir, who stitched mirrors into everyday objects to deflect the evil eye and invite light. Pure cotton grounds the work in the honest simplicity of the subcontinent's oldest woven fibre, giving each bag a weight and drape that synthetic alternatives cannot replicate.

Carry one across a printed mul-cotton kurta and wide palazzo trousers for a Sunday market or art-fair afternoon, letting the mirrors catch daylight. Fabric & care
Hand-wash each bag separately in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Pure cotton can bleed colour on first wash, so do not soak, and avoid wringing.
