This ivory chiffon carries that lineage: metallic thread flowers worked across its surface in the zardozi-adjacent tradition of cutdana and dabka embroidery that Surat's ateliers refined under Mughal patronage. Chiffon itself demands considerable skill from the embroiderer, as its sheer, mobile weave offers little resistance to the needle.
