the story,

Behind this piece

Khadi cotton silk carries within its weave a quiet defiance and a quieter grace. Spun by hand on the charkha, this cloth belongs to a tradition that Gandhi called the fabric of freedom, and it remains today a living practice rather than a museum artefact. The BLISS label, rooted in ISKCON Vrindavan, brings to this pajama a devotional sensibility: unhurried, purposeful, made for a life that values stillness. The blended yarn, cotton meeting silk on the bobbin, gives the fabric its particular softness, its subtle sheen, and its capacity to breathe through warm Indian afternoons.

to wear it,

How to style

In Acacia, pair these pajamas with a hand-block-printed Jaipur cotton kurta in ivory or sage, finishing with Kolhapuri chappals in natural tan. Lemon Chrome responds beautifully to a white chanderi or mul kurta worn loose, with seed-pearl studs and leather mojris. Summer Sand, the most versatile of the three, suits an evening on the verandah when paired with a short cotton nehru-collar kurta and a fine pashmina stole draped over the shoulder. All three colourways move easily between a morning meditation, a quiet family gathering, and an informal festive afternoon.

to last,

Fabric & care

Hand wash in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral soap; do not wring. Khadi cotton silk holds dye gently, so wash darks separately for the first two or three washes. Dry flat in the shade; direct sunlight will weaken the hand-spun fibre over time and may shift the colour. Do not tumble dry. Iron on a low-to-medium setting while the cloth is still slightly damp, always on the reverse side. Store folded in breathable cotton muslin, away from synthetic bags, and this cloth will soften and improve beautifully with each wearing.

Each piece is hand-loomed by artisan clusters we work with directly across India. Small irregularities in the weave are the hallmark of handloom — not a defect.
