Distinct from the counted-stitch precision of sozni, aari work moves with an improvisational fluency, the needle chasing curvilinear vines and blooms across fabric in a single continuous chain. On this short jacket, the floral vine motif draws from the same garden vocabulary that once adorned Mughal shawls and durbar textiles.
